Description of the part

Amethyst Vera Cruz on Acrylic Base - Rare (Collection) 117 grams

Energy Meaning

True Cross Amethyst is highly valued in crystal therapies for its remarkably high vibration and frequency. Recognized as a powerful stone of spirituality and contentment, it acts on the seventh chakra (crown), promoting a deep connection with higher meditative states, mental tranquility, and psychic protection. Its energy is considered gentler, yet deeper, than that of other amethysts, facilitating the transmutation of negative energies into positive ones and calming fears and anxieties. It is a stone of wisdom and aura purification.

Detailed Gemological and Geological Analysis

  • Chemical Classification:  Silicon Dioxide (Quartz variety).

  • Chemical Formula:  SiO₂.

  • Crystal System: Trigonal . The crystals form hexagonal prisms terminated by a combination of rhombohedral and pyramidal faces. The Vera Cruz variety is famous for its long, prismatic, and extremely clear crystals.

  • Mineral Class:  Tectosilicates.

  • Chemical Composition:  Pure Silicon Dioxide. Its characteristic violet color results from impurities of Ferric Iron (Fe³⁺) in the crystal lattice, associated with exposure to natural radiation (color centers [FeO₄]⁴⁻). The vitreous and almost hyaline transparency is a trademark of this origin.

  • Rarity: Rare . The term "Vera Cruz" refers to a specific and famous location in Mexico, known for producing some of the world's most coveted amethyst crystals. High-quality specimens from this mine, with typical crystalline formation and excellent transparency, are considered highly rare and of collectible value.

  • Occurrence & Locality:  This specimen was found in Veracruz, Mexico . Deposits in this region occur in cavities (geodes) within basaltic volcanic rocks.

  • Rock Composition:  The Vera Cruz Amethyst geodes are embedded in basaltic volcanic rock . The rock matrix is mainly composed of altered plagioclase, pyroxene, and olivine.

  • Rock Formation:  The genesis of this Amethyst is a post-volcanic hydrothermal process. As the vast layers of basaltic lava cooled, gas bubbles became trapped inside the rock, forming cavities. Subsequently, hydrothermal fluids rich in silica and iron saturated these cavities. Over millions of years, silica slowly precipitated from these fluids, crystallizing on the cavity walls in the form of Quartz. The specific combination of temperature, pressure, low iron concentration, and unique redox conditions at the site allowed the formation of the long, clear, soft violet crystals that characterize Vera Cruz Amethyst.

Specimen Dimensions

  • Total Height (with base): 8.00 cm

  • Crystal Width: 7.00 cm

  • Crystal Depth: 5.5 cm

  • Total Weight: 117 grams

Note:  The acrylic base provides a stable and discreet presentation, allowing for full appreciation of the geometry and transparency of the crystal.
