Rock Formation: The genesis of this Amethyst is a post-volcanic hydrothermal process. As the vast layers of basaltic lava cooled, gas bubbles became trapped inside the rock, forming cavities. Subsequently, hydrothermal fluids rich in silica and iron saturated these cavities. Over millions of years, silica slowly precipitated from these fluids, crystallizing on the cavity walls in the form of Quartz. The specific combination of temperature, pressure, low iron concentration, and unique redox conditions at the site allowed the formation of the long, clear, soft violet crystals that characterize Vera Cruz Amethyst.
