Paraiba Tourmaline in Lepidolite and Albite Matrix on Acrylic Base (Collection) 810 grams
Description of the part
Paraíba Tourmaline in Lepidolite and Albite Matrix on Acrylic Base (Collection) 810 grams
Technical Description:
This extraordinary specimen showcases one of the most coveted and valuable minerals in the gemological world: Paraíba Tourmaline. The piece displays prismatic tourmaline crystals, with their characteristic unique neon color, embedded in their original matrix, a rock association of lepidolite (lithium mica) and albite (sodium feldspar). Mounted on an acrylic base for stability and appreciation, this sample is a high-level collector's item, perfectly illustrating the geological environment of its formation.
Energy Significance:
Recognized as a stone of exceptionally high vibration, Paraíba Tourmaline is celebrated for activating and aligning the heart (Anahata) and third eye (Ajna) chakras. It is believed to stimulate spiritual communication, facilitate deep emotional healing, promote a state of joy, and open consciousness to higher dimensions. Its energy is said to be a catalyst for personal and spiritual transformation.
Mineralogical Specifications (Focus on Paraíba Tourmaline):
-
Chemical Classification (Composition): Complex cyclosilicate of sodium, calcium, lithium, aluminum, boron, hydroxide, and silicon, with the critical presence of copper (Cu) and manganese (Mn) as chromophores responsible for its unique color. General formula: Na(Li₁.₅Al₁.₅)Al₆(Si₆O₁₈)(BO₃)₃(OH)₃(OH). The Paraíba variety is an Elbaítrica.
-
Crystal System: Trigonal. Forms elongated prismatic crystals, often vertically striated.
-
Mineral Class: Silicates (Cyclosilicates).
-
Rock Formation: It forms in granitic pegmatites, high-temperature hydrothermal veins rich in volatile and unusual elements (such as Lithium, Cesium, and Boron). The specific neon color of Paraíba is a result of unique elemental replacement in very specific geological environments.
-
Rock Composition (Matrix): The matrix of this sample is composed mainly of Lepidolite (a lithium-rich mineral from the mica group, responsible for the pinkish-lilac color) and Albite (a white to colorless mineral from the feldspar group).
-
Locality of Origin: True Paraíba Tourmaline is found exclusively in a small region of the states of Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte and (under debate) Ceará, in Brazil . Specimens in matrix form like this are particularly informative and rare.
-
Rarity: Extremely rare. It is one of the rarest and most valuable gemstone varieties on the planet due to its unique color and extremely limited geographical occurrence. Specimens in matrix, which show the mineral in situ , are even rarer and sought after for scientific and gemological collections.
Dimensions of the Assembled Sample:
-
Height: 11.00 cm
-
Width: 15.50 cm
-
Depth: 8.50 cm
- Total Weight: 810 grams
This piece is a standout acquisition for serious collectors, gemologists, and museologists, serving not only as a stunning work of natural art for decoration, but primarily as a scientific document of Brazil's most unique mineral genetics.
