Rarity: Extremely rare . Charoite is found commercially in only one location in the world, making it one of the rarest and most sought-after minerals by collectors. Specimens with a well-defined catadoptic pattern and intense color are highly valued.

Occurrence & Location: This specimen was found exclusively in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russia , more precisely in the area of the Chara River, from which it derives its name.

Rock Composition: Charoite occurs in metasomatic rocks, associated with calcareous schists or skarns . It is frequently found in association with other minerals such as feldspar, quartz, aegirine, tinaksite, and miserite.

Rock Formation: Charoite forms through a unique process of contact metasomatism . This process occurs when alkaline hydrothermal fluids rich in potassium and fluorine, originating from a nepheline syenite intrusive, interact with and chemically alter pre-existing carbonate rocks (limestones). The reaction at high temperatures and pressures between the fluids and the host rock causes recrystallization and the formation of this distinctive mineral. Its fibrous-radial texture and swirl pattern are a result of the complex stress and flow conditions during its crystallization.

Damages and issues

Refunds
